3 easy Performance Stratagies for Lawyers

Pressure doesn't start when the judge enters the courtroom. An attorney's pressure starts with determining the feasibility of winning the case. The hours, that it will take to prepare, the research that will need to be completed, the potential conflicts of intereset, the judge, the jury selection, the preparing of the client......... And that is all before court has even started.

With all that said, you are a high performer! Remain in control of your emotions is the key to success. Here are three tips that will help you to stay in control in the court room.

  1. Have a tool (anchor) that you have practice ahead of time that will allow you to relax on command. (I have an audio training that I will send to you free of charge).

  2. Learn and pratice breathing techniques. Breathing in certain ways is one of the best ways to deal with anxiety in the moment.

  3. Stay hydrated, get enough sleep and eat a healthy pre-court meal. All of these determine how you respond in the moment.

The key to dealing with pressure situations is being ready for them as much as possilbe and having tools that will help you when you need to refocus.
